Day 3: In the Office

Day 3 and i'm heading into London to the office. This may be my downfall.

Breakfast
 - Hard boil 2 eggs the night before as I am up at stupid 'o' clock (less eggs than other days as ideally, I want to avoid serious egg flatulence on the train).
 - Chop and mix with mayo and ground pepper.
 - Add 4/5 sun dried tomatoes.
 - Run the hot tap, cut a lemon into quarters and squeeze 2 quarters into a pint glass and drop in.
 - Fill with hot water.
Put the other two quarters in a glass with water in the fridge for later.

Lunch

I'm out for lunch today with the boys and we're going to a Japanese place. Luckily they have a grill so I have seven 3" skewers of grilled salmon, chicken, pork, mushrooms, asparagus, prawns and something I can't identify.

I resist the Millie's cookies I bought for the boys on the way into the office, and CLEARLY deserve a medal for doing so.

Dinner

Home sweet home...
 - Grab 3 bell peppers and chop the tops off. Save 2 tops, bin the last and scrape out the white bit with the seeds.
 - Turn the oven on to 220, put two of the peppers (those that most successfully stand up unaided) on a baking tray and put in the oven.
 - Chop the remaining pepper, plus a small onion and put in a pan with olive oil. Cook until soft. Add 1 clove of garlic and enough minced beef to fill the two peppers.
 - When mince is brown, add a clove of garlic (thought about adding more, but Mam keeps telling me that my Knight in Shining Armour will turn up when I am least expecting it, so best to air on the side of caution).
 - Add about a cup of chopped tomatoes, tomato purée and as much Tabasco sauce as you like, plus ground pepper, salt and a level teaspoon of gravy powder.
 - Cook through.
 - Lift the peppers out of the oven, stuff with the mixture and return to the oven with the two lids.
Leave these in the oven until they look browned and cooked (I left mine long enough to have a fag, fix my BT Broadband and install my new IP phone, so about 10-15 minutes).
 - Serve with soured cream on the side.
When I served these, it actually looks enough for two, so i'll probably save half for lunch tomorrow.

Snacks

I didn't have any today.

Try to drink as much water as you can, preferably with lemons in it.

Exercise

Getting to London and back plus a walk around London.

Day 2. Am I *REALLY* going to Stick to this?

Day 2 and my brain is already trying to remember what I normally eat on this diet.

Breakfast
 - Hard boil 3 eggs, chop and mix with mayo and ground pepper.
 - Add 4/5 sun dried tomatoes.

 - Run the hot tap, cut a lemon into quarters and squeeze 2 quarters into a pint glass and drop in.
 - Fill with hot water.
 - Put the other two quarters in a glass with water in the fridge for later.
Lunch
 - Chop 1 red pepper, 1 green pepper and 1 onion into large chunks (about an inch square).
 - Cook in a pan with olive oil until they start to blacken on the edges.
 - Cook a gammon steak.
 - Put on plate and serve with a couple of big table spoons of soured cream.
Dinner

Feeling *really* lazy, so I made up another huge bowl of salad.

 - Grab a mixing bowl and mix together:
  • Three huge handfuls of chopped lettuce
  • 1 small tin sweetcorn
  • Big handful of cherry tomatoes (add as many as you want)
  • 3 chopped salad onions (you don't want to stink all day)
  • 3 chopped beetroot
 - Mix it all together, this will be split for 2 meals. Put half in a container in the fridge for dinner tomorrow.
  - Mixed 1 tin of tuna with loads of mayo and had it on top of  a huge bowl of salad.
Snacks

Eat the rest of the peas from yesterday.

Try to drink as much water as you can, preferably with lemons in it.

Exercise

Put the radio, your fave CD or iPod on and dance around your home like a crazy girl, making up dance routines, holding hairbrush as mic and watching self in mirror for at least half an hour.

My Weight Today

10st 13lbs

Thoughts Today

Weight Lost: None. Times I have Opened Fridge: 7 (only been awake 3 hours). Times I have been on Scales: 2. Situps Done: 30. Days of Atkins to Go: 29. Now: Dancing around the flat to the Radio to burn weight off, think Kylie.

Day 1. The Beginning

I LOVE day 1, loads of wonderful food arrives, you feel fabulously positive and are rearing to go!

There's some sort of theory that drinking hot lemon aids digestion, either way, it's a nice way to start the day and is a hot drink too so you don't feel like you're missing out too much.

Lunch
 - Grab a mixing bowl and mix together:
  • Three huge handfuls of chopped lettuce
  • 1 small tin sweetcorn
  • Big handful of cherry tomatoes (add as many as you want)
  • 3 chopped salad onions (you don't want to stink all day)
  • 3 chopped beetroot
 - Mix it all together, this will be split for 2 meals. Put half in a container in the fridge for dinner.
 - To the other half add a small handful of grated cheese, add a few tablespoons of coleslaw, mix.
 - Put on a plate with a few slices of ham. Add as much as you want, I normally have about 3 slices of proper sliced ham, not wafer thin.
- Get the rest of the lemon water out of the fridge, top up with cold water.
Dinner

Get the salad from lunch out of the fridge and put on a plate.
 - Grab 2 burgers (100% meat) and put in a pan.
 - As they start to go brown, add about a tablespoon and a half of blue cheese to the pan and as soon as it starts to melt, put the whole lot on the plate with the salad.
 - Add a couple of huge tablespoons of coleslaw.
Drink water.

Snacks

On the morning, open a big bag of peas in their shells. Eat as many as you want through the day.

Try to drink as much water as you can, preferably with lemons in it.

Exercise

I did 30 sit-ups today which nearly killed me, trying to do as much as exercise as I can.

My Weight Today

10st 13lbs (my scales are wrong and i'm heavier than that, but it's the weight loss and my figure i'm monitoring, not what I actually weight).

Thoughts Today

Weight lost: None. Times I have opened Fridge: 40+. Times I have been on Scales: 3. Sit-ups Done: 30. Days of Atkins to Go: 30. Now: Watching Horror Film to scare fat away.

Before I Begin

Every now and again (about every 6 months), I realise that I can't fit into my clothes any more and I go on a crash diet. People ask why i don't just eat healthily all of the time, but what fun would that be?!

Each time that I go on this diet, everyone is amazed at how well it works and how quickly I lose the weight and manage to keep it off for a fair amount of time too (anything from 6 months to 2 years). With this in mind, I have decided to document the diet this time, firstly so that I can use it as a reference and secondly, so that others can follow it of they wish.

I used to do the pure Atkins diet, but over the years, I have added and changed it to suit me. As it works so well, I am sticking to it.

Each day, i'll document what i've eaten, drank and what (if any) exercise I have done. I'll also keep a weekly shopping list, plus document how the weight loss is going.

SO....here we go!!!!!

NOTE: I am not recommending this diet to anyone, I am not guaranteeing any nutritional value - although it makes me feel great, look great, my skin great and my hair shiny, but that's not to say it will do the same for you. If you keel over and have a heart attack because of my diet, then it was your choice, not mine.
